After a brilliant season opener at sunny Imola we are off to our regular stomping ground: Zandvoort. Our friends of the HARC have invited us to the 42nd running of their Historic Zandvoort Trophy. We have never missed one, so this will be our 25th appearance at this event! These will be our first points scoring rounds of the season, so things are getting serious and with 44 cars on the entry list we are looking forward to two exciting races. We welcome back Georg Nolte in his Ford GT40 and expect him to be on top form, so he can give Micchiel Campagne in his Corvette Grand Sport a run for his money.
Imola winners Norbert Gross in his Ford Falcon and Rhea Sautter/Andy Newall in Rhea’s Jag E-type will also be at the sharp end of the field, as will be Bob Stevens in his Lotus Elan. There are no less than 8 Ford Falcons entered and one of them is for Catawiki NK HTGT debutant Mike Gardiner. Mike won the Masters TC race at Imola and is no stranger to Zandvoort, so he is definitely a contender! It’s great to see no less than 4 Lotus Cortina’s in action, driven by Alex Korle, René Wallner, Frank Romo and the duo of Gerrit Jan van Leenen/Bert Du Toy van Hees. Watch out for Thomas Ardelt though, he is out to beat them all with some spectacular antics in his Volvo Amazon. In the small GT class we welcome back two of our old hands, Michel Lombard (Alpine A110) and Fred Corporaal (Lotus Elite). Let’s see how they fare against the amazing little Ginettas of Brain Lambert and Nigel/Chas Winchester. Finally, a very warm welcome to a trio of new members to he Catawiki NK HTGT family. Piero del Maso, Nuno Nunes and José Carvalho are joining us for a full season. They come all the way from Portugal and are bringing a beautiful Porsche 911 and Jaguar Mk. 2. Check out the fulll entry list and time schedule on the Drivers Info Page.
